Brand Milwaukee Part II: Is Our Sales Pitch Working for Everyone?
Tuesday, April 21 | Doors at 6:30 p.m.; Program at 7:00 p.m. | Dandy, 5020 W. Vilet St., Milwaukee.
The second forum in the Brand Milwaukee series brings together civic, tourism, business, and arts leaders to examine the narrative infrastructure shaping Milwaukee’s branding and cultural messaging—and how it influences opportunity, investment, and visibility across the city.
Panelists Tarik Moody (Radio Milwaukee), Peggy Williams-Smith (VISIT Milwaukee), Corry Joe Biddle (Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce), and Marcela “Xela” Garcia (Walker’s Point Center for the Arts) will explore how creatives and cultural entrepreneurs can better position themselves within the city’s economic ecosystem.
Part conversation, part strategy session, the forum invites creatives, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to think critically about how Milwaukee tells its story—and how local creative communities can help construct, share, and evolve the narratives that shape the city’s reputation.

5TH annual: Black birth maternal & infant health symposium 2026
Now in its fifth year, the Black Birth Symposium is a leading convening dedicated to advancing health equity and confronting the urgent disparities facing Black mothers and infants.
Black women are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes, and Black infants in Milwaukee face mortality rates nearly three times higher than their white counterparts. This symposium brings together healthcare leaders, community members, researchers, and policymakers to drive solutions, share knowledge, and strengthen collective action.
Co-presented by GE HealthCare and the City of Milwaukee Health Department, this powerful gathering centers advocacy, education, and community-driven change.
Register now to be part of the movement to transform maternal and infant health.
